Rockies 5, Marlins 3: Rookie Josh Rutledge had a pinch-hit RBI triple to snap a tie in the seventh inning as host Colorado recorded its fourth straight victory and seventh in 10 outings.
Activated from the disabled list prior to the game, Michael Cuddyer belted a two-run homer in the sixth inning to tie the contest at 3-3.
Rutledge then lifted a fly ball that handcuffed right fielder Giancarlo Stanton, allowing D.J. LeMahieu to score. Rutledge, who was nursing a left quad injury, legged out a triple before scoring on a safety squeeze by Eric Young Jr.
Adam Ottavino (4-1) relieved starter Alex White and allowed one run on two hits in three innings to pick up the victory. Matt Belisle worked the eighth inning before Rafael Betancourt retired the side in order in the ninth for his 22nd save.
Carlos Lee homered and scored on a wild pitch and Stanton also went deep to lead off the sixth inning for the Marlins, who opened their 11-game road trip by losing for the fourth time in five contests.
Ricky Nolasco (9-12) fell for the sixth time in seven decisions after permitting five runs on nine hits in eight innings. Nolasco dropped to 6-2 in eight career starts versus Colorado.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Miami C Rob Brantly collected his first career hit with a double in the sixth inning. ... Cuddyer had been on the disabled list with a strained right oblique. ... Miami placed INF Nick Green on the 15-day disabled list with a left thumb sprain. The move was made retroactive to Monday.
