White Sox 8, Orioles 1: Jake Peavy allowed one run in seven strong innings and host Chicago snapped a three-game losing streak.

A.J. Pierzynski clubbed a two-run home run and Adam Dunn broke the game open with a three-run double as the White Sox matched their combined run total from their three-game skid.

Alejandro De Aza swatted a solo homer and Gordon Beckham was among four players with two hits and also drove in a run as Chicago beat the Orioles for only the fifth time in the last 13 home meetings.

Peavy made his third straight impressive start, striking out eight and giving up one run on four hits. He has fanned 21 and walked only two.

Baltimore starter Tommy Hunter (1-1) was charged with eight runs on nine hits in 5 2/3 innings. He struck out eight and walked four.

After Endy Chavez staked the Orioles to a 1-0 lead with an RBI double in the second, Chicago went ahead for good in the bottom of the inning on Pierzynski's two-run blast off Tommy Hunter, his fourth of the year.

Alex Rios' sacrifice fly and De Aza's solo homer extended Chicago's lead to 4-1 through four innings before Dunn greeted reliever Troy Patton with his bases-clearing double in the sixth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Dunn entered Wednesday's game batting .179 with 18 strikeouts in 39 at-bats. The three-run double matched his season RBI total. ... Baltimore 3B Mark Reynolds dipped to 2-for-17 with nine strikeouts against Peavy, who now sports an ERA of 2.75 and WHIP of 0.81.
