Jose Tabata doubled home Josh Rodriguez with the winning run with two out in the 14th inning to give the host Pittsburgh Pirates a 4-3 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Friday night.

Tabata also belted a solo home run for Pittsburgh (5-3), which erased a 3-0 first-inning deficit to win its first home game of the season.

Garrett Olson (1-1) worked two innings in relief for the victory, capping a stellar night by the Pirates' bullpen, which got 11 1/3 scoreless innings from six pitchers..

The Rockies (5-3) jumped out to a 3-0 lead on Jason Giambi's three-run homer in the top of the first off Ross Ohlendorf. Giambi was in the lineup after Todd Helton was scratched with back stiffness.

Ohlendorf had to exit the game with two outs in the third after experiencing discomfort in his right shoulder. He allowed three runs on three hits.

The Pirates got even with single runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings. Tabata belted a two-out homer in the fifth, and Jason Jaramillo had an RBI single in the sixth to make it 3-3.
