Drew Stubbs homered in the top of the 10th to lift the visiting Cincinnati Reds to a 7-6 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday afternoon.

Joey Votto added a three-run blast and totaled four RBIs for the Reds, who narrowly avoided losing their fourth straight series.

After using closer John Axford to retire the side in the top of the ninth, Brewers manager Ron Roenicke turned to righthander Sergio Mitre (0-1) for the 10th. The veteran journeyman got Edgar Renteria to ground out for the first out but served up a 1-2 pitch out over the plate that Stubbs hammered to center for his fifth blast.

Aroldis Chapman (2-0) struck out a pair in 1 2/3 strong innings to earn the win and Francisco Cordero picked up his fourth save. Chapman, working in his second straight game, topped out at 101 MPH with his fastball and still has not allowed an earned run in 12 appearances.

Ryan Braun, Prince Fielder and Casey McGehee combined to go 0-for-12 from the No. 3, 4 and 5 spots in the Milwaukee order.
