J.A. Happ (2-4) pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowed four runs on eight hits, walked one and struck out five as the Astros have won three straight for the first time this year. Happ also had an RBI single in the fourth, when Houston broke open a 1-1 game with its biggest inning of the season.

Cincinnati starter Mike Leake (3-1) was chased after 3 2/3 innings. He allowed seven runs, seven hits, walked one and struck out five.

First baseman Brett Wallace, who was moved to the cleanup spot in place of injured left fielder Carlos Lee, added a solo homer in the fifth for the Astros. Lee suffered bruised ribs in Sunday's game against Milwaukee and is listed as day-to-day.

Bourgeois had three of Houston's 13 hits.

Drew Stubbs had a two-run double in the fifth for the Reds.
