It was the Nationals' second win in their past nine home games against Florida, which is 28-7 all-time at Nationals Park.

Nationals starter Chien-Ming Wang (3-3), backed by an early 4-0 lead, won for the first time in six starts since Aug. 16. He has won both of his career starts against the Marlins.

Marlins starter Brad Hand (1-8) lost his fifth consecutive start and doesn't have a major league win since July 7.

The Nationals, who have won six of eight, remained tied with the New York Mets for third place in the National League East, as the Mets won 7-5 at Atlanta on Sunday.
