Logan Morrison's two-run double was the biggest blow in a four-run eighth inning and delivered the go-ahead runs in the Florida Marlins' 6-4 road win against the Texas Rangers on Sunday, giving the Marlins consecutive series victories for the first time in more than a month.
The Marlins had not won consecutive series since taking two of three from Tampa Bay from May 20-22 and sweeping a three-game series at San Francisco from May 24-26. They improved to 6-6 under interim manager Jack McKeon.
Rangers starter C.J. Wilson did not factor in the decision and has not lost since May 20. He struck out nine in 7 1/3 innings and was in line for the win when he left with a 2-1 lead, but the Rangers' bullpen couldn't hold the lead.
Mark Lowe (2-2) gave up two runs in one-third of an inning.
Nelson Cruz and Adrian Beltre hit solo home runs for the Rangers, who dropped into a first-place tie with the Los Angeles Angels in the American League West.
Rangers manager Ron Washington and first-base coach Gary Pettis were ejected in the seventh inning for arguing with first-base umpire Angel Hernandez about a potential missed balk call after Cruz was picked off first by Mike Dunn (5-5).
