Cole Hamels dominated through seven-plus innings before leaving with an upper back injury and benefited from five home runs as the host Philadelphia Phillies took advantage of the stumbling Florida Marlins with a 9-1 victory on Tuesday.

Dominic Brown clubbed a pair of solo blasts, and Ryan Howard, Chase Utley and Jimmy Rollins each smacked two-run homers for the Phillies, who improved their major league-best record to 41-26 with a fourth straight win.

Gaby Sanchez drove in the lone run for the Marlins, who lost their fourth game in a row and dropped to 1-12 in June.

Hamels (9-2) yielded one run and three hits before he let go of a pitch in the eighth inning and immediately looked uncomfortable. He left the game quickly and was replaced by David Herndon. Hamels, who struck out six, has not lost since May 8 and has allowed two runs over 23 innings in his last three starts.

Florida scored in the first but quickly watched the game get out of hand as Howard bashed his 14th in the bottom half and Utley took Chris Volstad (2-7) deep in the third.
