Brennan Boesch and Jhonny Peralta drove in two runs apiece as the host Detroit Tigers rallied twice for a wild 8-7 victory over the hapless Minnesota Twins on Tuesday.

Victor Martinez doubled twice and drove in a run and Peralta doubled twice for the Tigers, who have won three straight.

The Twins, who own the worst record in the major leagues at 17-36, have suffered six one-run losses in their last nine games, including three straight.

Minnesota led twice on Tuesday, jumping out to a 3-0 advantage only to watch the Tigers rally for six runs off Brian Duensing in the bottom of the fifth. But the Twins came back, getting to Max Scherzer for seven runs to go up, 7-6, on Justin Morneau’s three-run blast in the seventh.

Morneau homered twice to double his season total after going 10 straight games without an extra-base hit.

Minnesota’s bullpen could not make the one-run lead hold, as Peralta tied it with a sacrifice fly in the seventh and Boesch got to Phil Dumatrait (0-1) for another sacrifice fly in the eighth.

Al Alburquerque (3-1) got the win and Joaquin Benoit picked up his second save for Detroit.
