Carlos Santana hit a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Cleveland Indians rallied to defeat the Detroit Tigers 9-5 on Friday night for their 11th consecutive victory at home.

Asdrubal Cabrera smacked a two-run home run and Shelley Duncan had two hits and two RBIs to help the Indians extend their winning streak to four games.

Cleveland erased a pair of three-run deficits before Santana connected off Joaquin Benoit (0-1) to send the Tigers to their fourth consecutive defeat overall and ninth straight loss at Progressive Field.

Chris Perez (1-0) pitched a scoreless ninth and Matt LaPorta added a solo homer for the Indians.

Miguel Cabrera hit a two-run homer and Alex Avila went 2-for-2 with a pair of sacrifice flies for the Detroit, which held leads of 3-0 and 5-2.

Detroit starter Matt Scherzer allowed five runs on six hits and five walks in 6 2/3 innings. He struck out seven. Indians starter Jeanmar Gomez was tagged for three runs on 10 hits in 5 2/3 innings.
