Alexei Ramírez, Adam Dunn, Paul Konerko and Carlos Quentin drove in two runs apiece to lead the Chicago White Sox to an 8-2 win over the visiting Cleveland Indians on Thursday.
Gavin Floyd (5-3) gave up one run on five hits with one walk over seven innings for the White Sox, who have won nine of their last 12.
After Konerko doubled in two runs in the bottom of the first, the White Sox broke the game open with four runs in the second off Fausto Carmona (3-4), who allowed eight runs on seven hits over five innings.
Quentin’s two-run homer in the fifth gave the White Sox an 8-1 lead. Chicago has won three straight home games for the first time this season.
The Indians’ lone highlight came in the bottom of the eighth when shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera started a double play with a barehanded, behind-the-back flip to second on Omar Vizquel’s grounder up the middle.
With its sweep of the brief two-game series, Chicago improved to 4-1 against Cleveland and 16-24 against every other opponent this season.
