Orlando Cabrera hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning and helped turn a triple play in the fourth, leading the Cleveland Indians to a 7-1 win over the Chicago White Sox on Sunday.

The Indians avoided a three-game sweep in the opening series for both teams. Justin Masterson (1-0) held Chicago, which scored 23 runs in the first two games, to one run and seven hits in seven innings.

John Danks (0-1) took a 1-0 lead into sixth, but gave up Travis Hafner's two-out single. Cabrera then hit the first pitch to left, giving Cleveland its first lead of the season. Danks pitched well, allowing two runs and six hits with a walk and eight strikeouts in six innings.

Paul Konerko's RBI single in the third gave Chicago a 1-0 lead, but Cleveland's defense turned back a scoring threat in the fourth.

The White Sox had runners on first and second when Alexei Ramirez popped up a bunt. Carlos Santana, playing his first career game at first base, made a diving grab on the foul line. He threw to first base, where second baseman Cabrera was covering, to double up A.J. Pierzynski. Cabrera threw to shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera at second base to double up Carlos Quentin.

Lou Marson's RBI double and Asdrubal Cabrera's sacrifice fly added two runs in the seventh off the Chicago bullpen. The Indians scored three in the eighth on pinch-hitter Shelley Duncan's two-run single and Michael Brantley's sacrifice fly.

The crowd of 8,726 was the lowest in Progressive Field history. Saturday's crowd of 9,853 had been the lowest.
