Jacoby Ellsbury belted his third homer in two games and John Lackey pitched seven solid innings as the Boston Red Sox handed the visiting Seattle Mariners their 13th straight loss, 7-4 on Friday night.

Adrian Gonzalez hit a two-run single to highlight a five-run seventh for Boston, which has won 15 of its last 18 overall and seven straight at home.

Dustin Pedroia went 3-for-3 to extend his hitting streak to 19 games and also scored twice, and Kevin Youkilis drove in a pair of runs before exiting in the seventh with a hand injury for the Red Sox.

Lackey (8-8), who won his third straight, allowed one run on eight hits and struck out four. Jonathan Papelbon retired the side in order in the ninth for his 22nd save.

Felix Hernandez (8-9) pitched well before running into trouble in the seventh. The reigning American League Cy Young Award winner permitted six runs on 11 hits in 6 1/3 innings.

Mike Carp belted a three-run homer in the eighth and rookie Dustin Ackley had an RBI single in the first for Seattle.
