Roger Bernadina had two home runs, including a go-ahead two-run shot in the top of the ninth, and the Washington Nationals beat the New York Mets, 6-4, Wednesday to take two of three in a key divisional series.

Bernadina hit the first two homers of his career -- a solo shot in the fourth off starter Mike Pelfrey and the winner off Francisco Rodriguez (2-1). He doubled his career RBI total to six in the process.

Nationals starter Craig Stammen helped himself to a 4-2 advantage with a two-run single in the second and an RBI single in the fourth, but he couldn't hold the lead. Stammen allowed four runs on six hits over five innings of the no-decision.

Washington's bullpen worked four scoreless innings in relief, a night after blowing up during a six-run eighth inning.

Bernadina's second blast made a winner of Tyler Clippard (7-1), who pitched a perfect eighth. Matt Capps worked a perfect ninth for his 14th save.

Alex Cora and Angel Pagan each had two hits and an RBI, while Pelfrey and Jose Reyes also drove in runs for the Mets.
