The Houston Astros jumped out to a quick lead and held on for a 6-3 victory over the Chicago Cubs on Sunday at Minute Maid Park.

Lance Berkman's RBI single and Carlos Lee's two-run homer gave Houston a 3-0 lead in the first against Cubs starter Randy Wells.

The Cubs cut it to 3-2 on Starlin Castro's sacrifice fly and Koyie Hill's RBI double, but the Astros broke it open with three more runs in the sixth. Hunter Pence singled in one and Pedro Feliz added a two-run single.

Wells (3-4) allowed six runs on nine hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Houston starter Brett Myers (4-3) limited the Cubs to two runs on eight hits and lasted 6 2/3 innings. He’s pitched at least six innings in every start this season.

Matt Lindstrom pitched a scoreless ninth for his 13th save.

Berkman, Pence and Jeff Keppinger had two hits apiece for the Astros. Keppinger extended his hitting streak to eight games.
