A.J. Ellis singled in the winning run in the bottom of the 11th inning to lift the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 5-4 victory over the Atlanta Braves on Sunday.

Ellis' base hit to left brought home Russell Martin, who led off the inning with a pinch-hit walk and was sacrificed to second by Blake DeWitt.

Ronald Belisario (1-0) picked up the win and gave the Dodgers a split of the four-game series. Belisario pitched the final two innings and allowed two hits and a walk with two strikeouts.

Jesse Chavez (0-1) took the loss, yielding the one run on a hit and a walk in 1/3 of an inning.

Atlanta led 4-1 after a three-run fifth that was highlighted by a solo home run by Martin Prado and a two-run shot by Brian McCann.

Los Angeles answered in the bottom of the frame to tie the game at 4-4 on a homer by Rafael Furcal and a two-run single by James Loney.

A total of 11 pitchers were used, six by the Dodgers, and neither starter figured in the decision. Tim Hudson started for the Braves and allowed four runs and nine hits in seven innings. John Ely had gone six straight starts of allowing two runs or less but was touched for four runs and nine hits in five innings.
