Stephen Drew had four RBIs and Mark Reynolds hit his 13th homer of the season as the Arizona Diamondbacks recorded a 7-4 victory over the visiting Atlanta Braves on Monday night.
Drew singled in Arizona’s first run and then capped a five-run fourth inning with a three-run triple to right field. Reynolds led off the inning with a homer to left-center field.
Conor Jackson had two hits, including an infield single that drove in Chris Young with Arizona’s other run during the fourth-inning outburst.
Atlanta loaded the bases in the ninth before Diamondbacks closer Chad Qualls enticed Yunel Escobar to ground into a game-ending double play for his 11th save of the campaign.
Dan Haren (6-4) recorded the victory and allowed three runs and nine hits in 5 2/3 innings.
Atlanta’s Derrick Lowe (8-5) lost for the first time since May 17. He gave up seven runs and eight hits in four innings.
Melky Cabrera had two hits and two RBIs for Atlanta.
