Carl Crawford and Evan Longoria belted back-to-back homers and drove in two runs apiece, helping the Tampa Bay Rays overcome a lengthy rain delay and the New York Yankees 7-2 on Wednesday night at Yankee Stadium.
Dan Johnson also clubbed a solo homer for Tampa Bay, which snapped a three-game losing streak and cut the Yankees' lead in the American League East to 1 1/2 games.
A 2-hour, 11-minute rain delay in the third inning turned the third game of the four-game series into a battle of the bullpens.
Rays rookie right-hander Jeremy Hellickson (4-0) picked up the victory with 3 1/3 innings of relief, allowing two runs on three hits while striking out five.
Yankees starter A.J. Burnett (10-14) took the loss despite allowing just one run in three innings.
Lance Berkman hit a solo home run - his first as a Yankee - and Alex Rodriguez added an RBI single for New York.
Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter had a pair of singles to extend his hitting streak to 11 games.
