Roy Oswalt overcome a shaky start and pitched seven strong innings to lead the visiting Houston Astros to a 4-2 victory over the Kansas City Royals in the second of a three-game series Wednesday night.
Jason Michaels had a pair of hits and drove in three runs for the Astros, who snapped a four-game losing streak.
The game was delayed at the start by rain for one hour, 25 minutes.
Oswalt (5-8) allowed two runs on six hits while walking one and striking out seven. He bounced back nicely after allowing three hits in the first inning, including a leadoff triple by Scott Podsednik.
Brandon Lyon pitched a scoreless eighth and closer Matt Lindstrom finished up for his 15th save and first since June 8.
Red-hot David DeJesus went 4-for-4, including an RBI single in the third inning, for the Royals. DeJesus is 10-for-13 in his last three games and has hit safely in 13 of 14 games this month.
Kansas City starter Bruce Chen (3-1) went 5 2/3 innings, giving up four runs on five hits. He fanned six and walked three.
