Chipper Jones hit a go-ahead, three-run home run as the Atlanta Braves held on for a 4-3 victory over the Detroit Tigers on Saturday.

Jones' fifth homer of the season off Joel Zumaya (2-1) in the seventh gave Atlanta a 3-1 lead. Eric Hinske extended the lead to 4-1 with a RBI double in the eighth.

It proved to be important as the Tigers rallied against the Braves' bullpen. With closer Billy Wagner unavailable, Atlanta relievers struggled mightily to close it out.

Takashi Saito allowed a solo homer to Miguel Cabrera and Eric O’Flaherty walked in a run. But Peter Moylan struck out Johnny Damon with the bases loaded to end it.

Moylan saved it for Kenshin Kawakami (1-9), who snapped a streak of nine-straight losing decisions. The right-hander allowed one run and two hits in seven innings with six strikeouts and three walks.

Cabrera’s RBI groundout in the sixth was the difference before the Braves rallied in the seventh.
