John Danks went eight strong innings and Paul Konerko and Andruw Jones homered as the Chicago White Sox broke a four-game losing streak with a 4-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday.
Danks (2-0) was dominant in striking out nine and limiting Tampa Bay to two hits in his outing. Closer Bobby Jenks worked the ninth for his third save.
Chicago's offense, which has struggled in the season's first two weeks, finally produced some big hits. Konerko drove in a run with a first-inning double and another with his eighth-inning homer for the 4-1 lead.
Alex Rios tripled in the second and scored on shortstop Jason Bartlett's error to make it 2-1.
Tampa Bay starter David Price (2-1) gave up three runs with three walks in five innings.
Carl Crawford homered in the first for the Rays, who had their seven-game winning streak snapped and suffered their first road loss of the season in eight tries.
