Yankees 5, Blue Jays 3: Mark Teixeira homered and drove in three runs to help visiting New York salvage the finale of the three-game series.

Jacoby Ellsbury went 3-for-4 with an RBI and Francisco Cervelli drove in a run for the Yankees, who snapped their season-high four-game road losing streak. Hiroki Kuroda (5-5) picked up his first win in five starts after giving up three runs on eight hits in 6 1/3 innings.

Jose Reyes had a leadoff homer among three hits and Melky Cabrera knocked in a pair of runs with a base hit as Toronto fell short of its first sweep of three or more games against New York since 2003. Drew Hutchison (5-6) fell to 0-3 versus the Yankees this season, surrendering four runs on seven hits with six strikeouts in six innings.

Reyes yanked Kuroda's first pitch over the wall in right field for his second leadoff homer against New York in the last nine days. Cervelli tied it in the third with an RBI double before Ellsbury drove him in with a base hit to center. Teixeira followed with his 14th shot of the year to make it 4-1.

Cabrera's two-out single in the fifth pulled the Blue Jays within a run, but a hit batsman and two walks loaded the bases for the Yankees in the seventh before Teixeira lifted a sacrifice fly to center. Matt Thornton stranded two runners in scoring position in the bottom of the seventh and David Robertson struck out three while notching the second five-out save of his career.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Toronto selected the contract of OF Brad Glenn from Triple-A Buffalo and optioned OF Kevin Pillar one day after he showed disgust in the dugout for being removed for a pinch hitter. To make room on the 40-man roster, IF Jonathan Diaz was designated for assignment. ... Blue Jays RF Jose Bautista (hamstring) was out of the lineup for the third straight game. ... The Yankees have Thursday off before beginning a three-game series at home against Boston on Friday. The Blue Jays host the Chicago White Sox on Thursday in the opener of a four-game set.
