Reds 4, Rockies 1: Homer Bailey struck out six in 7 1/3 innings and Skip Schumaker drove in two runs as host Cincinnati handed Colorado its first loss in its last nine series (6-1-2).

Todd Frazier homered while Ramon Santiago and Billy Hamilton had two hits apiece for the Reds. Bailey (3-2) yielded one run and four hits, and Aroldis Chapman, who was hit in the face by a line drive in spring training March 19, made his season debut and struck out three in the ninth while reaching 102 miles per hour to earn the save.

Charlie Blackmon homered for the second straight game as the Rockies - the highest-scoring team in baseball - were held to three or fewer runs for the third time in four contests after scoring three or more in 10 of their previous 11. Juan Nicasio (4-2) yielded four runs (two earned) in six innings and was hurt by two errors.

Hamilton helped manufacture Cincinnati's first run when he reached third on a bunt single and a two-base throwing error by first baseman Justin Morneau, and promptly scored on Schumaker's groundout. Schumaker's two-out single in the third made it 2-0 before Blackmon took Bailey out to right-center in the fourth.

Frazier answered Blackmon's blast with a shot over the wall in center to lead off the bottom of the fourth - his second homer of the series - to make it 3-1. Morneau walked and Michael McKenry hit a ground-rule double to lead off the fifth before Bailey struck out DJ LeMahieu and Nicasio, and then retired Blackmon on a foul pop.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Rockies 3B Nolan Arenado, who won a Gold Glove as a rookie in 2013 and has recorded several highlight-reel defensive plays this season, committed his seventh error - tied for third-most in the majors - when his throw to first which would have ended the fifth inning pulled Morneau off the bag and instead allowed the Reds to take a 4-1 lead. ... Bailey recorded two sacrifice bunts with Santiago moving up and scoring on both. ... Colorado averaged eight runs in Nicasio's previous seven starts this season.
