Astros 3, Orioles 1: George Springer belted a tiebreaking two-run homer - his seventh blast in seven games - to lift host Houston to its sixth consecutive victory.

Jose Altuve collected three hits and scored a run to back six strong innings from Brad Peacock, who struck out eight in six innings of one-run ball. Josh Fields (1-3) fanned three in two scoreless innings before Chad Qualls got the final three outs for his fourth save.

Nelson Cruz went 2-for-4 with an RBI single to extend his hitting streak to 10 games for Baltimore, which fell to 12-4 in its last 16 meetings with the Astros. Preston Guilmet (0-1) gave up two runs in an inning in relief of Ubaldo Jimenez, who limited Houston to one run on three hits and struck out eight over six innings.

The Astros loaded the bases in the second inning on a pair of walks sandwiched around Matt Dominguez's single before Jimenez uncorked a wild pitch, allowing Jason Castro to score the first run. The Orioles tied it in the fourth when Steve Pearce doubled and came home on Cruz's two-out single - his 12th RBI during a 10-game hitting streak.

Altuve collected his third hit with one out in the seventh before Springer clubbed his 10th homer of the month, extending his hitting streak to 11 games and giving him 16 RBIs in the last eight games.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Orioles manager Buck Showalter challenged that Castro was safe at home on the second-inning wild pitch, but the umpires ruled that the call stands after a review of nearly 4 1/2 minutes. ... Altuve has hit safely in eight straight and 20 of his last 21 games. ... Orioles C Matt Wieters, who has been sidelined since May 10 with a right elbow strain, reported feeling much better and will have a throwing session Friday.
