Preview Roundups
December 28, 2016
Toronto at Florida 7:00 PM ET
It's been a rough few weeks for the Florida Panthers, who have won only three times in their last 11 games as they prepare to host the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday night. It is the third of a four-game homestand for the reigning Atlantic champions, who are stuck in fifth place in the division and sit only one point ahead of the Maple Leafs.
Carolina at Pittsburgh 7:00 PM ET
The Pittsburgh Penguins attempt to improve upon the best home record in the league when they host the streaking Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday. Pittsburgh is an NHL-best 15-2-2 in its own building and has earned at least one point in each of its last nine games at PPG Paints Arena (8-0-1).
Montreal at Tampa Bay 7:30 PM ET
The Montreal Canadiens have been a dominant team on home ice and must begin to show they can be tougher on the road over the next two weeks. The Canadiens, who are 6-6-2 away from home, lost the first contest of a season-high seven-game road trip before the holiday break and continue the trek Wednesday against the Atlantic Division-rival Tampa Bay Lightning.
Philadelphia at St. Louis 8:00 PM ET
The Philadelphia Flyers are looking to prevent a repeat of last season's post-Christmas break swoon when they open a three-game road trip against the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday. Philadelphia, which is 11-2-1 in its last 14 contests, headed into last season's break on an 8-2-2 run before mustering just five goals during a fruitless three-game trek through California.
Los Angeles at Vancouver 10:00 PM ET
The Los Angeles Kings are treading water heading into the final portion of their extended stretch away from Tinseltown while the Vancouver Canucks are dipping in the Pacific Division following six losses in their last eight outings. The Kings carry a 3-2-2 mark into the final two contests of their nine-game road trip, beginning Wednesday with a trip to British Columbia.
