December 19, 2014
Tampa Bay at New Jersey 7:00 PM ET
After snapping a two-game skid, the Tampa Bay Lightning vie for a second straight victory on their five-game road trip when they visit the reeling New Jersey Devils on Friday. Tyler Johnson collected a goal and an assist in Tampa Bay's 3-1 triumph over Philadelphia on Tuesday to increase his point total to 12 in his last 11 games. Johnson also notched an assist on Alex Killorn's tally in Tampa Bay's 2-1 loss to New Jersey on Oct. 14.
Anaheim at Ottawa 7:30 PM ET
The Ottawa Senators have proven to be a bit of a tough out since replacing coach Paul MacLean with Dave Cameron. The new Senators bench boss will face a stiff test Friday night as his team hosts the powerhouse Anaheim Ducks. Ottawa is coming off an impressive 2-0 triumph over the New Jersey Devils - completing a 2-0-1 road trip in the process - while the Ducks are also on a high following a 2-1 victory over the Montreal Canadiens.
NY Islanders at Detroit 7:30 PM ET
The Detroit Red Wings attempt to halt their slide when they continue their four-game homestand against the New York Islanders on Friday. Detroit's skid reached four contests (0-1-3) Tuesday as it suffered a 1-0 shootout loss to Columbus in the opener of its stretch at home. The Red Wings hope to avoid extra time against the Islanders as the setback dropped them to 3-8 in games that go beyond regulation.
Boston at Winnipeg 8:00 PM ET
The Boston Bruins look to secure consecutive victories for the first time in nearly a month when they visit the Winnipeg Jets on Friday. After dropping three straight 3-2 decisions, Boston won by that score as Loui Eriksson scored 1:30 into overtime against Minnesota on Wednesday. The 29-year-old Swede has scored three goals in five contests for the Bruins, who have won just three of their last 11 overall (3-5-3).
Dallas at Calgary 9:00 PM ET
The Calgary Flames look to put an end to their losing streak when they host the Dallas Stars on Friday. Calgary returned home from a fruitless four-game road trip Tuesday and saw its skid reach six contests with a 5-2 loss to the New York Rangers. The Flames have scored a total of four goals over their last four games and fewer than three in all but one contest during their slide.
