December 18, 2015
Boston at Pittsburgh 7:00 PM ET
The Boston Bruins can continue their good fortune and add to the troubles of the spiraling Pittsburgh Penguins in one fell swoop on Friday when the teams complete their home-and-home series at Consol Energy Center. Tuukka Rask turned aside all 34 shots he faced to notch his league high-tying fourth shutout on Wednesday as Boston posted a 3-0 victory to improve to 9-1-3 in its last 13 contests.
Tampa Bay at Washington 7:00 PM ET
With his linemates injured and captain Steven Stamkos in the middle of a goal-scoring drought, Nikita Kucherov has taken on a lead role for the Tampa Bay Lightning. Kucherov has netted six tallies in as many games to top the team with 12 and looks to continue his hot streak when the Lightning visit the stingy Washington Capitals on Friday.
Florida at Carolina 7:00 PM ET
The Carolina Hurricanes have recorded points in five of their last six games with a rejuvenated offense, and Jeff Skinner has led the way. The 23-year-old left wing has scored nine goals in his last six contests while recapturing his 2010-11 Calder Trophy form and looks to add to his total when the Hurricanes host the Florida Panthers on Friday.
San Jose at Ottawa 7:30 PM ET
Ottawa was 14-7-5 after defeating the New York Islanders in overtime Dec. 5 and trending upward in the Atlantic Division, with some believing the Senators were a Stanley Cup contender. Ottawa, though, is 2-4-0 since and tries to right the ship Friday against the visiting San Jose Sharks - the NHL's top road team.
Vancouver at Detroit 7:30 PM ET
The Vancouver Canucks attempt to record the first victory of their lengthy road trip when they visit the Detroit Red Wings on Friday. Vancouver is halfway through its six-game trek and has yet to post a win as it has been outscored 12-2 in losses to Chicago, Minnesota and Philadelphia.
NY Rangers at Winnipeg 8:00 PM ET
The New York Rangers attempt to halt their six-game road losing streak when they visit the Winnipeg Jets on Friday. New York won six of its first nine contests away from home (6-2-1) before falling to 0-4-2 on its current slide with Thursday's 5-2 setback at Minnesota.
