Preview Roundups
November 27, 2015
NY Rangers at Boston 1:00 PM ET
The Bruins have won five of the last six regular-season meetings since beating the Rangers four games to one in the 2013 Eastern Conference semifinals and they'll try to continue their mastery of New York on Friday afternoon in their traditional post-Thanksgiving Day contest at TD Garden in Boston. The Rangers are coming off a 5-1 loss to Montreal on Wednesday - allowing a season high in goals - while the Bruins are riding a four-game winning streak after Wednesday's 3-2 overtime victory in Detr
Nashville at Philadelphia 3:30 PM ET
Having finally put an end to a franchise-record goalless drought, the Nashville Predators look to wrap up a five-game road trip on a positive note when they visit another offensively challenged team in the Philadelphia Flyers on Friday afternoon. The Predators halted a skid of three consecutive shutout losses with a 3-2 victory over the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday.
Winnipeg at Minnesota 4:00 PM ET
A difficult November has pushed the Winnipeg Jets lower in the Central Division standings, making the team's division contest against the host Minnesota Wild on Friday all the more important. Winnipeg fell to 3-7-1 in its last 11 contests with Wednesday’s 5-3 loss to Washington and has earned only four of a possible 16 points against Central rivals.
Chicago at Anaheim 5:00 PM ET
Red-hot Patrick Kane and Chicago visit the Anaheim Ducks on Friday in the second meeting of the season between the defending Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks and the team they beat in seven games to reach the finals. Kane recorded two assists to extend his point streak to 17 games in Chicago's 5-2 victory over San Jose on Wednesday as the Blackhawks improved to 2-1-1 on a six-game road trip which concludes Saturday in Los Angeles.
Tampa Bay at Washington 5:00 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Lightning, who are second in the league in goals allowed, face a huge test when they visit the high-powered Washington Capitals on Friday. Tampa Bay has surrendered 2.13 goals per game, thanks in part to the red-hot Ben Bishop, and will attempt to slow down captain Alex Ovechkin and the surging Capitals.
Carolina at Buffalo 7:00 PM ET
The Carolina Hurricanes have warmed up a bit offensively over the last three games, and defenseman Justin Faulk has been the key figure in the uprising. Faulk leads the league in power-play goals and looks to extend his point streak to eight games as the Hurricanes visit the struggling Buffalo Sabres on Friday.
Montreal at New Jersey 7:00 PM ET
The Montreal Canadiens attempt to extend their winning streak without the services of Carey Price when they visit the New Jersey Devils on Friday in the opener of a home-and-home series. The reigning Hart and Vezina Trophy winner exited Wednesday's road triumph over the New York Rangers after aggravating the lower-body injury that sidelined him for nine contests earlier this season.
Pittsburgh at Columbus 7:00 PM ET
Sidney Crosby appears to be emerging from his early-season slumber and that would be a huge boost for the Pittsburgh Penguins, who go for their fourth win in five games when they visit the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday night. Crosby scored twice in Pittsburgh's 4-3 overtime victory over St. Louis and has three goals in three games.
Edmonton at Detroit 7:30 PM ET
The Detroit Red Wings attempt to extend their point streak to six contests Friday as they continue their six-game homestand against the Edmonton Oilers. Detroit has gone 3-0-2 over its last five games, a span that includes a 3-2 overtime loss to Boston on Wednesday in the opener of its lengthy string at Joe Louis Arena.
NY Islanders at Florida 7:30 PM ET
The Florida Panthers look to avoid a losing homestand and end a three-game winless streak when they host the New York Islanders on Friday. The Panthers, who take to the road for five in a row after the contest, fell to 1-2-1 in their last four at home after a 3-1 defeat against Los Angeles on Monday.
Vancouver at Dallas 8:30 PM ET
The Western Conference-leading Dallas Stars will wrap up a three-game homestand against a team they have dominated when the Vancouver Canucks pay a visit on Friday night. Dallas posted a 4-3 overtime victory over the Canucks on Oct. 29 to extend their winning streak in the series to eight games, including five in a row at home.
Calgary at Arizona 9:00 PM ET
The Calgary Flames look to continue their current success against Arizona when they visit the Pacific Division-rival Coyotes on Friday. Calgary swept the five-game season series against Arizona in 2014-15, outscoring the Coyotes 20-8 in the process.
