Preview Roundups
November 10, 2015
St. Louis at New Jersey 7:00 PM ET
After putting forth a career-best performance in his last outing, Jake Allen has been confirmed to start on Tuesday as the St. Louis Blues continue their four-game road trip against the New Jersey Devils. Allen recorded a personal best with 45 saves as St. Louis skated to its second straight win and fifth in six outings with a 4-0 victory over Central Division rival Nashville on Saturday.
Carolina at NY Rangers 7:00 PM ET
The New York Rangers are on a roll and expect to have standout forward Rick Nash back in the lineup as they go for their sixth consecutive victory against the visiting Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday night. The Rangers have surged to the top of the Metropolitan Division on the heels of a 7-0-1 stretch during which they permitted a combined nine goals.
Colorado at Philadelphia 7:00 PM ET
Although coach Dave Hakstol told reporters that Steve "(Mason) is our No. 1" goaltender, Michal Neuvirth is expected to get the nod on Tuesday as the Philadelphia Flyers host the Colorado Avalanche. Neuvirth recorded his league-leading third shutout on Saturday to help Philadelphia snap a six-game winless skid (0-4-2) with a 3-0 victory over Winnipeg.
Vancouver at Columbus 7:00 PM ET
The Columbus Blue Jackets continue to dig their way out of an 0-8-0 start and try for their first home victory of the season when they face the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday. Columbus, which is 0-5-0 and outscored 24-10 at Nationwide Arena as the only winless team at home in the NHL, is 4-4-0 since John Tortorella took over for the fired Todd Richards on Oct. 21 - Tortorella's first NHL coaching job since getting fired by Vancouver after one season at the end of 2013-14.
Washington at Detroit 7:30 PM ET
Defenseman Mike Green recorded 360 points in 10 seasons with the Washington Capitals before leaving as a free agent this past offseason. The two-time Norris Trophy finalist, who returned last game after missing six contests with a shoulder injury, will face his former team for the first time when the Detroit Red Wings host the red-hot Capitals on Tuesday.
Buffalo at Tampa Bay 7:30 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Lightning, who were shut out once during the regular season in 2014-15, have been blanked three times during a frustrating eight-game stretch. The Lightning will try to ignite a scuffling offense Tuesday as they go after their eighth consecutive victory and fourth this season against the visiting Atlantic Division-rival Buffalo Sabres.
Calgary at Florida 7:30 PM ET
The Florida Panthers are winless in their last five games but will get a chance to work out their issues in the Sunshine State for the next three weeks, starting with a visit from the Calgary Flames on Tuesday. The Panthers play seven of their next eight contests on home ice, sandwiching a quick trip to meet interstate-rival Tampa Bay in between, before they play in Detroit on Nov. 29.
Ottawa at Nashville 8:00 PM ET
The Nashville Predators attempt to bounce back from their first shutout loss of the season when they continue their five-game homestand against the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday. Nashville began its stretch of contests at Bridgestone Arena in disappointing fashion, suffering a 4-0 setback against Central Division rival St. Louis on Saturday despite registering 45 shots.
Winnipeg at Minnesota 8:00 PM ET
The Minnesota Wild need Devan Dubnyk to play as he did after arriving in a mid-season trade with Arizona in 2014-15 if they want to stay with the crowded pack in the Central Division, especially with Zach Parise lost to a knee injury. Dubnyk figures to start Tuesday, when the Wild wrap up their three-game homestand against the Winnipeg Jets following a stellar 31-save effort in Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Tampa Bay.
Toronto at Dallas 8:30 PM ET
The best team in the Western Conference will square off with the worst team in the East when the red-hot Dallas Stars host the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday night. The high-flying Stars have won three straight contests and six of their last seven as they prepare to kick off a three-game homestand, but their only loss in that span was a 4-1 setback in Toronto.
Arizona at Los Angeles 10:30 PM ET
The Los Angeles Kings attempt to avenge an early-season loss when they continue their lengthy homestand against the Arizona Coyotes on Tuesday. Los Angeles improved to 1-1-0 on its second five-game stretch at Staples Center with a 4-1 victory over Florida.
NY Islanders at San Jose 10:30 PM ET
The New York Islanders are in dire need of a win, but the way they know to San Jose has been littered with defeats for nearly 13 years. The Islanders look to prevent their third straight loss and sixth in seven outings when they open a three-game California road trip against the slumping Sharks on Tuesday.
