Preview Roundups
November 03, 2015
Dallas at Boston 7:00 PM ET
The Stars will be out for all to see when Boston hosts Dallas on Tuesday, but the Bruins have a few bright spots of their own. Dallas captain Jamie Benn, who leads the league with 10 goals and 18 points, and Boston's David Krejci were named the NHL's First and Third Stars, respectively, of the Month of October, while the Bruins' Brad Marchand claimed First Star of the Week honors after recording four goals and two assists while Boston went 3-0-0.
New Jersey at NY Islanders 7:00 PM ET
The New Jersey Devils vie for their third straight win and seventh in eight outings on Tuesday when they visit Barclays Center to face the suddenly skidding New York Islanders. The Devils' unlikely ascent in the Metropolitan Division has been aided by Saturday's 3-2 shootout win over New York that snapped a six-game losing streak in the series.
Washington at NY Rangers 7:00 PM ET
The Washington Capitals look to set a franchise record by winning their fifth consecutive road game to start a season on Tuesday when they visit the Metropolitan Division-rival New York Rangers. It certainly won't be easy against the Rangers, who won three of four regular-season meetings in 2014-15 before outlasting the Capitals in seven one-goal games during their second-round playoff series.
Ottawa at Montreal 7:30 PM ET
The Montreal Canadiens have yet to lose at home, a streak that could be in jeopardy with star goaltender Carey Price expected to be sidelined for a week with a lower-body injury sustained in a loss at Edmonton on Thursday. Montreal looks to improve to 6-0-0 at the Bell Centre when it hosts the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night in the second contest of a four-game road trip.
Tampa Bay at Detroit 7:30 PM ET
Two teams that opened the season with three straight victories before struggling for the rest of October attempt to build off wins in their last game as the Tampa Bay Lightning visit the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday. The Lightning snapped a four-game winless streak with a 4-3 triumph at Carolina on Sunday while Detroit won at Ottawa on Saturday after a befuddling 1-5-1 stretch.
Los Angeles at St. Louis 8:30 PM ET
One night after having their winning streak halted, the Los Angeles Kings attempt to stop the Blues' three-game run when the clubs face off in St. Louis on Tuesday. Los Angeles was 20 minutes away from its eighth consecutive victory Monday but allowed three third-period goals in Chicago and dropped a 4-2 decision to the reigning Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks.
Calgary at Colorado 9:00 PM ET
Mired in their second straight sluggish start to begin a season, the Colorado Avalanche look to snap a five-game home losing skid when they welcome the Calgary Flames on Tuesday. Former Flame icon Jarome Iginla scored in Colorado's 4-3 setback to San Jose on Sunday, but the Avalanche fell victim to their sixth one-goal loss on the young season.
Philadelphia at Edmonton 9:00 PM ET
The Philadelphia Flyers look to break out of their offensive funk and halt their four-game slide when they continue their five-game road trip against the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday. Philadelphia fell to 0-3-1 in its last four overall contests and 0-2-0 on its trek by dropping a 4-1 decision at Vancouver on Monday.
Columbus at San Jose 10:30 PM ET
Getting away from home may not be a bad thing for the struggling Columbus Blue Jackets, who kick off a three-game California road trip with a visit to the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night. The Blue Jackets, who opened the season with eight consecutive defeats, are coming off a 3-2 loss to Winnipeg on Saturday night that dropped the club to 0-5-0 at home.
