Preview Roundups
October 26, 2016
Montreal at NY Islanders 7:00 PM ET
The Montreal Canadiens are making a habit of getting out of the blocks in a hurry, highlighted by their franchise-best nine-game winning streak to start the 2015-16 campaign. This season's Canadiens are nearly as hot as they vie for their fifth consecutive victory on Wednesday when they visit the New York Islanders.
Boston at NY Rangers 8:00 PM ET
The Boston Bruins must battle through adversity for the near future without their top two goaltenders, and it doesn’t get any easier as they visit the well-rested New York Rangers on Wednesday. Tuukka Rask (lower body) is out indefinitely and backup Anton Khudobin (upper body) is lost for about three weeks, forcing the Bruins to go with a pair of rookies in the crease.
Washington at Edmonton 9:30 PM ET
The Edmonton Oilers are easily the biggest surprise of the young season but they will receive their sternest test to date when Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals pay a visit to Rogers Place Wednesday night. Edmonton is riding a three-game winning streak to boost its record to 5-1-0, matching the franchise's best start since 1985-86.
Nashville at Anaheim 10:30 PM ET
The Anaheim Ducks could be without their captain and backup goaltender when they host the Nashville Predators on Wednesday. Anaheim lost both to upper-body injuries in its 2-1 overtime loss to the Sharks in San Jose on Tuesday, as Ryan Getzlaf departed after two periods while Jonathan Bernier exited after just 20 minutes.
