Preview Roundups
October 22, 2015
Arizona at NY Rangers 7:00 PM ET
The New York Rangers paid a hefty price to acquire defenseman Keith Yandle at the trade deadline last season and will get a look at one of the players they gave away when the Arizona Coyotes pay a visit to Madison Square Garden on Thursday night. Rookie Anthony Duclair, one of the key components in the deal, has scored a team-high five goals for Arizona.
Dallas at Pittsburgh 7:00 PM ET
The Dallas Stars look to extend their winning streak to five games on Thursday when they vie for a season sweep of the host Pittsburgh Penguins. Captain Jamie Benn collected a goal and an assist in Dallas' 2-1 victory over Philadelphia on Tuesday and also tallied in the team's 3-0 season-opening triumph over Pittsburgh on Oct. 8.
New Jersey at Ottawa 7:30 PM ET
Andrew Hammond is poised to make his season debut for the Ottawa Senators on Thursday, but he has an impossible act to follow - his own. Hammond, who took the NHL by storm and spearheaded Ottawa's dramatic late-season surge into the playoffs, will be in net when the Senators continue a four-game homestand against the New Jersey Devils.
Anaheim at Nashville 8:00 PM ET
Nashville left wing James Neal offers a simple explanation as to why he's hot as the Predators prepare to host the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday. "Just confidence, I think," the 28-year-old Ontario native told reporters after scoring twice for the second straight game in a 5-4 shootout victory over Tampa Bay on Tuesday. "When you're getting the bounces and you're scoring goals, you want the puck. ... I don't know how you can keep that around all year, but I'll definitely try to."
Columbus at Minnesota 8:00 PM ET
New coach John Tortorella looks to help the Columbus Blue Jackets snap a franchise-worst 0-7-0 start to their season on Thursday when the club visits the Minnesota Wild. Tortorella, who replaced the fired Todd Richards on Wednesday, won the Stanley Cup with Tampa Bay in 2004 and had mixed success in his four years with the New York Rangers before the bottom fell out in his one season with Vancouver in 2013-14.
Florida at Chicago 8:30 PM ET
The Chicago Blackhawks will attempt to put together the pieces without reigning Conn Smythe Trophy winner Duncan Keith when they host the Florida Panthers on Thursday. A two-time Norris Trophy winner, Keith is expected to miss four-to-six weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a meniscal tear in his right knee.
Washington at Vancouver 10:00 PM ET
Captain Alex Ovechkin looks to extend his goal-scoring streak as the Washington Capitals vie for their fourth consecutive victory when they visit the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday. Ovechkin has tallied in each of his four games this season, with his goal in Tuesday's triumph at Calgary in the opener of Washington's three-game road trip the 900th point of his career.
Los Angeles at San Jose 10:30 PM ET
The Los Angeles Kings attempt to make it three wins in a row when they take to the road for the first time this season to face the Pacific Division-rival San Jose Sharks on Thursday. Los Angeles kicked off its season-opening five-game homestand with three straight losses, a skid during which it scored a total of two goals.
