Preview Roundups
October 19, 2014
Minnesota at Los Angeles 3:00 PM ET
The defending Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings appear fully recovered from a slow start, especially on defense. The Kings aim for their fourth straight victory when they host the Minnesota Wild on Sunday. The Wild returned from nearly a week off on Friday and suffered their first loss at Anaheim, surrendering their first two goals of the season in the process.
San Jose at NY Rangers 5:00 PM ET
While the New York Rangers aren't setting the world on fire, Rick Nash has blazed quite the trail to start the season. After scoring an NHL-best six goals in addition to the shootout winner in his last game, Nash looks to continue his hot hand when the Rangers host the San Jose Sharks on Sunday. "He's hot right now," Derick Brassard said of Nash. "I've known him for a long time and as soon as I saw him in the first practice, I knew he meant business."
Calgary at Winnipeg 7:00 PM ET
The Calgary Flames look to complete their six-game road trip with a winning record when they visit the struggling Winnipeg Jets on Sunday. The Flames rode some solid goaltending to win three of the first four on their trek before dropping a 3-2 decision against Columbus on Friday. The Jets have been shut out twice and scored one goal in the other during a three-game losing streak since power forward Evander Kane went down with a knee injury in a 6-2 season-opening victory at Arizona.
St. Louis at Anaheim 8:00 PM ET
The Anaheim Ducks look to extend their winning streak as they continue their five-game homestand Sunday against the St. Louis Blues. Anaheim began its string of contests at Honda Center with a 2-1 triumph over Minnesota on Friday. The Ducks fell behind early in the second period, but Andrew Cogliano tied the contest with a short-handed goal 4:02 into the third and Corey Perry snapped the deadlock with 8:25 remaining, giving his team its fourth straight victory.
