Preview Roundups
October 13, 2014
Colorado at Boston 1:00 PM ET
The Boston Bruins have mustered just three goals in as many games this season, but their sputtering offense is likely the envy of their visiting opponent for Monday's matinee. The Colorado Avalanche were shut out twice by Minnesota's Darcy Kuemper to begin the season, dropping a 5-0 decision on the road Thursday before falling 3-0 in Denver two days later.
Anaheim at Buffalo 3:00 PM ET
The Anaheim Ducks had a third period to remember Saturday night in Detroit, while the Buffalo Sabres would much rather forget their performance over the final 20 minutes of their loss in Chicago. The Ducks look to make it two wins in a row Monday afternoon as they tangle with the Sabres in a Columbus Day showdown in Buffalo. Anaheim rallied for a 3-2 win over the Red Wings on captain Ryan Getzlaf's second goal of the game with just 24 seconds left in the third.
Ottawa at Florida 7:30 PM ET
The Florida Panthers make their third attempt to get into the win column when they host the Ottawa Senators on Monday. After beginning the season with an overtime loss at Tampa Bay, the Panthers were trounced in their home opener on Saturday as they dropped a 5-1 decision to New Jersey. Derek MacKenzie provided Florida's offense, converting a power-play opportunity after the club already had fallen into a 5-0 hole.
Montreal at Tampa Bay 7:30 PM ET
The Montreal Canadiens are off to their best start since 2005-06 with three straight victories despite failing to enter a third period with a lead or recording a power-play goal. The Canadiens look to make things easier on themselves and extend their win streak when they visit the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday. The Lightning, who were swept in the first round of the playoffs by Montreal in April, have managed only one even-strength goal while splitting a pair of extra-time contests.
