Ottawa at NY Rangers 7:00 PM ET
The New York Rangers' postseason plans have been confirmed, while the Ottawa Senators are making a spirited push to provide the opposition in the first round. The Senators look to continue their march toward the second wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference when they visit Madison Square Garden on Thursday.
Carolina at Philadelphia 7:00 PM ET
The Philadelphia Flyers have played the role of spoiler to perfection down the stretch and now have a chance to avenge their most recent defeat when they host the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday. The Flyers have knocked off playoff hopefuls Chicago, Pittsburgh (twice) and the New York Islanders in the past two weeks and look to win three in a row for the first time since a four-game run to close out January.
Detroit at Montreal 7:30 PM ET
The Detroit Red Wings are inching closer to securing a record 24th consecutive playoff berth but face a rugged test when they visit the Atlantic Division-leading Montreal Canadiens on Thursday. A victory in either of Detroit's final two games or a regulation defeat by the Ottawa Senators will extend the longest playoff streak among any of the four major North American sports. "The bottom line for us is we're in control of our situation," coach Mike Babcock said.
New Jersey at Tampa Bay 7:30 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Lightning continue their pursuit of the top spot in the Atlantic Division when they host the New Jersey Devils on Thursday. Tampa Bay, which resides two points behind first-place Montreal, has found the going tough against New Jersey - suffering a 2-1 setback at home on Oct. 14 and dropping a 3-2 decision in a shootout on the road on Dec. 19.
Boston at Florida 7:30 PM ET
After squandering their advantage of having a game in hand as they battle for a postseason berth, the Boston Bruins attempt to maintain their hold on the second wild card in the Eastern Conference when they visit the Florida Panthers on Thursday. Boston is even in points with Ottawa but reside in the playoff spot as a result of having more regulation/overtime victories than the Senators.
Chicago at St. Louis 8:00 PM ET
The St. Louis Blues can wrap up the Central Division title by winning their final two games, but that will require beating the visiting Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday to maintain their tenuous hold on first place. The Blues, who hold a one-point edge over Nashville and are three points clear of the Blackhawks, can clinch the division with a win over Chicago coupled with a regulation loss by the Predators (against Minnesota) on Thursday.
Minnesota at Nashville 8:00 PM ET
The Nashville Predators attempt to halt their four-game slide and potentially climb into first place in the Central Division when the face off against the Minnesota Wild in their regular-season home finale Thursday. Nashville, which trails division-leading St. Louis by one point with two games remaining, fell to 0-2-2 in its last four contests with a 3-2 loss at Colorado on Tuesday.
Winnipeg at Colorado 9:00 PM ET
The Winnipeg Jets can clinch the second postseason berth in franchise history when they conclude a three-game road trip against the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday. The Jets have a three-point lead over Los Angeles for the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference and could gain entry into the playoffs by either posting their fourth straight win or if the Kings fall in regulation to Calgary on Thursday.
Los Angeles at Calgary 9:00 PM ET
The Los Angeles Kings have prided themselves on their ability to stave off elimination and they will be looking to avoid a knockout blow when they visit the Calgary Flames on Thursday. The reigning Stanley Cup champions, coming off a devasting 4-2 defeat at Edmonton on Tuesday, trail the Flames by two points for third place in the Pacific and are three back of Winnipeg for the second wild card in the Western Conference.
San Jose at Edmonton 9:30 PM ET
The Edmonton Oilers attempt to finish their final homestand of the season with a winning record when they take on the San Jose Sharks on Thursday. Edmonton split the first two contests of its three-game stretch at Rexall Place, suffering a 4-0 loss to Calgary on Saturday before putting a major dent in Los Angeles' playoff hopes with a 4-2 triumph three nights later.
Arizona at Vancouver 10:00 PM ET
After clinching a postseason berth while not on the ice, the Vancouver Canucks look to put their stamp on second place in the Pacific when they host the division doormat Arizona Coyotes on Thursday. Vancouver skated to a 2-1 shootout victory over Los Angeles on Monday and punched its ticket to the playoffs for the sixth time in seven seasons the following night, when the the Kings dropped a 4-2 decision to Edmonton.
