Toronto at Buffalo 7:30 PM ET
The Buffalo Sabres look to earn a split of the four-game season series when they host the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday. Buffalo also is seeking consecutive wins for the first time in over a month after posting a 4-1 triumph at Arizona on Monday. Defenseman Andrej Meszaros registered his second straight two-goal performance and captain Brian Gionta added a tally and an assist as the Sabres halted their five-game slide.
Philadelphia at Pittsburgh 8:00 PM ET
The Pittsburgh Penguins are trying to hold down second place in the Metropolitan Division but they will be facing a major nemesis when the Philadelphia Flyers pay a visit Wednesday night. Pittsburgh is tied on points with the New York Islanders in the division but has one game in hand as it goes for its third consecutive victory. The Flyers have been a nightmare matchup for the Penguins, winning six straight meetings overall and four in a row in Pittsburgh.
Edmonton at Anaheim 10:00 PM ET
The league-leading Anaheim Ducks begin their final homestand of the regular season against the streaking Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday. Anaheim, which leads Nashville and the New York Rangers by two points in the race for the Presidents' Trophy, is riding a three-game winning streak as it concluded its five-game road trip with one-goal victories against Boston, the New York Islanders and New Jersey after being outscored 12-5 in losses to the Rangers and Columbus.
Colorado at San Jose 10:30 PM ET
The San Jose Sharks finally return home after a seven-game road trip but their playoff hopes are hanging by a thread as they prepare to host the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday. The Sharks, who have not missed the postseason since 2002-03, went 3-3-1 on their two-week trek to leave them seven points out of the second wild card in the Western Conference and eight points out of third place in the Pacific Division. "We're not out of it yet, still not out of it," San Jose coach Todd McLellan said.
