Preview Roundups
March 01, 2015
Los Angeles at Winnipeg 4:00 PM ET
The Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets wrap up their three-game season series at MTS Centre on Sunday. The Jets and Kings are both in the middle of the Western Conference playoff picture, with Los Angeles hanging on to the final spot in the Pacific Division and Winnipeg owning a wild-card spot. The Kings have lost two straight following their eight-game winning streak and are 9-13-6 on the road, but Winnipeg’s 5-7-3 record against the Pacific Division doesn’t inspire confidence.
Tampa Bay at Florida 5:00 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Lightning play 15 of their final 19 regular-season games against Atlantic Division rivals, starting Sunday with a trip south to take on the Florida Panthers. The Lightning survived a brutal February schedule against all Western Conference opponents, finishing with a 6-4-2 record after posting a 4-0 triumph over Chicago on Friday.
Columbus at Pittsburgh 5:00 PM ET
The Pittsburgh Penguins scored just once in each contest during a three-game losing streak before erupting for 13 goals en route to winning their last three outings. The well-rested Penguins return from a lengthy layoff to host the reeling Columbus Blue Jackets on Sunday. Evgeni Malkin collected three assists in Pittsburgh's 4-3 win over Washington on Wednesday and has scored three goals and set up five others during his four-game point streak.
Toronto at Washington 7:00 PM ET
The Toronto Maple Leafs seek their first road victory of 2015 when they visit the Washington Capitals on Sunday. Toronto has lost 15 in a row since its last triumph away from home, a shootout win on Dec. 31 in Boston. The Maple Leafs fell to 0-13-2 as visitors on Saturday, when they were blanked 4-0 by Montreal for their second loss at Bell Centre in 15 days.
Anaheim at Dallas 8:00 PM ET
The Anaheim Ducks vie for their fifth victory in six games and look to keep the Dallas Stars winless in that stretch when the former Pacific Division rivals meet at American Airlines Center on Sunday. Corey Perry scored twice in Friday's 4-2 victory over Los Angeles and also tallied in regulation before setting up Nate Thompson's overtime winner in Anaheim's 2-1 triumph over Dallas on Oct. 31.
St. Louis at Vancouver 9:30 PM ET
The St. Louis Blues attempt to continue their recent success on the road when they resume their trek against the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday. St. Louis improved to 2-0-0 on their five-game trip Saturday with a second straight 2-1 victory, this time at Edmonton. Paul Stastny set up Dmitrij Jaskin's first-period goal before snapping a tie with 5:40 remaining in the third as the Blues recorded their fourth straight road win and ninth in their last 10 away from home.
