Preview Roundups
February 26, 2014
Boston at Buffalo 7:30 PM ET
The Boston Bruins look to pick up where they left off prior to the Winter Olympics when they visit the struggling Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday. Boston breezed into the break with a 7-1-1 mark to sit comfortably atop the Atlantic Division - 38 points ahead of cellar-dwelling Buffalo, which snapped a four-game losing streak with a 3-2 victory over Carolina on Tuesday.
Detroit at Montreal 7:30 PM ET
The decision by Mike Babcock to ride goaltender Carey Price resulted in an Olympic gold medal for Team Canada - and also provided the coach with a bonus on a much lesser scale. Price, who capped a brilliant performance in Sochi with back-to-back shutouts, is not expected to be in goal for the Montreal Canadiens when they host Babcock's Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday.
Los Angeles at Colorado 10:00 PM ET
The Colorado Avalanche have been among the biggest surprises of the league and look to keep it going when they kick off a post-Olympic three-game homestand against the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday. The Avalanche finished dead last in the now-defunct Northwest Division last season but are just five points back of Central Division co-leaders St. Louis and Chicago.
St. Louis at Vancouver 10:30 PM ET
The Vancouver Canucks hope the return of their captain, as well as a lengthy rest, helps them get back in the win column when they host the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday. Henrik Sedin is expected to be in the lineup after missing eight of Vancouver's final 10 games before the Olympic break - including the last two - with a rib injury.
