Montreal at Ottawa 7:00 PM ET
The Ottawa Senators continue their five-game homestand by hosting the rival Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday. The Senators and Canadiens split the first two games of their season series with the home team winning 4-1 in each meeting, but the two clubs are on very different trajectories in the standings. Montreal leads the Atlantic Division, while Ottawa’s playoff chances are heading toward becoming a mathematical impossibility.
Detroit at Chicago 7:30 PM ET
After stumbling out of the blocks to begin their season-high eight-game homestand, the Chicago Blackhawks vie for their third consecutive win when they face the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday. Chicago finished a seven-game road trip with consecutive victories and earned a point in the first two contests of the homestand before posting a 3-1 triumph over New Jersey on Friday and a 2-1 shootout win versus Pittsburgh two days later.
Minnesota at Calgary 9:30 PM ET
The Calgary Flames attempt to remain perfect on their homestand when they face off against the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday. Calgary began its four-game stretch at Scotiabank Saddledome with a 3-2 triumph over Vancouver on Saturday and edged Boston in overtime two nights later for its fifth win in six home contests. The Flames fell into a 3-0 hole before rallying, with defenseman TJ Brodie capping the comeback at 4:58 of the extra session.
Los Angeles at Colorado 10:00 PM ET
The Los Angeles Kings attempt to extend their winning streak to six games when they visit the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday. Los Angeles wrapped up a five-game road trip with back-to-back victories before posting a perfect three-game homestand that concluded with a 3-2 triumph over Tampa Bay on Monday. Jordan Nolan snapped a tie early in the third period as the Kings stretched their home point streak to six games (4-0-2).
Boston at Edmonton 10:00 PM ET
The Boston Bruins have limped to an 0-3-1 record in their last four contests, allowing other teams to chip into their rather sizable lead in the race for the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference. The Bruins look to snap their skid and extend their winning streak against the Edmonton Oilers to 14 games when the teams meet at Rexall Place on Wednesday.
Tampa Bay at Anaheim 10:00 PM ET
The injury-plagued Anaheim Ducks look to snap out of a mini-slump when they host the high-scoring Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday night. Goalie Frederik Andersen (neck), 21-goal scorer Matt Beleskey (upper body) and talented young defenseman Sam Vatanen (lower body) are all out for the Ducks as they try to turn it around following a 1-3-1 slide. The Lightning knocked off Anaheim 5-3 on Feb. 8 at home and have earned points in eight straight contests against the Ducks (4-0-4).
