NY Rangers at NY Islanders 7:00 PM ET
The New York Islanders have ascended to the top of the Metropolitan due in part to their suffocating play against their division rivals - most notably the New York Rangers. With a trio of three-goal victories over the Rangers under their belt, the Islanders vie for their 12th consecutive divisional win when they host their neighborhood rivals on Monday.
Carolina at Ottawa 7:30 PM ET
After beginning the month with just one goal in each of their three losses, the Ottawa Senators have scored 13 times in their next three contests (2-0-1) to keep alive their flickering postseason chances. The Senators look to continue their recent good fortune when they play the third contest of a five-game homestand against the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday.
Montreal at Detroit 7:30 PM ET
The Montreal Canadiens are holding down the pole position in the Eastern Conference but there are five teams sitting within five points of the top spot. One of those pursuers, the Detroit Red Wings, will play host to the Canadiens on Monday night in a matchup of Atlantic Division heavyweights. Montreal, which is riding a five-game point streak (4-0-1), has won four in a row against the Red Wings - including a 4-1 victory at Detroit on Nov. 16 in the last meeting.
Edmonton at Winnipeg 8:00 PM ET
The Winnipeg Jets needed only two games to reap the dividends of a blockbuster midweek trade with the Buffalo Sabres. With new acquisitions Drew Stafford and defenseman Tyler Myers playing pivotal roles, the Jets rallied for a 5-4 victory at Detroit on Saturday and hope to continue the momentum when they host the Edmonton Oilers on Monday night. "You want to make plays and help your new team win and they did that," Winnipeg coach Paul Maurice said.
Arizona at Colorado 9:00 PM ET
The Arizona Coyotes look to halt their three-game losing streak when they visit the Colorado Avalanche on Monday. Arizona, which has dropped five of its last six, was edged 2-1 at St. Louis before suffering home losses to San Jose on Friday and the New York Rangers the following night. Antoine Vermette scored the lone goal in Saturday's 5-1 setback to New York as the team was held to fewer than three tallies for the sixth consecutive game.
Boston at Calgary 9:00 PM ET
A pair of teams holding down the final playoff spots in the respective conferences will square off when the Calgary Flames host the slumping Boston Bruins on Monday night. The Flames have won 10 of 14 but are trying to hold off the red-hot Minnesota Wild and resurgent Los Angeles Kings in the West. "We are in a really good spot. Everybody loves to play these games," goaltender Karri Ramo said. "I don’t think anybody feels the pressure that it would be too much."
Minnesota at Vancouver 10:00 PM ET
The Minnesota Wild attempt to set a franchise record by earning a point in their 11th consecutive game when they visit the Vancouver Canucks on Monday. Minnesota improved to 8-0-2 in its last 10 contests Saturday with a 6-3 triumph over Carolina as Thomas Vanek recorded two goals and an assist. The victory helped match the longest point streak in franchise history for the Wild, who enjoyed a 9-0-1 run from March 8-27, 2007.
Tampa Bay at Los Angeles 10:30 PM ET
The defending Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings look to continue their sudden surge toward playoff position when they host the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday. The Kings started their four-game winning streak with a 4-2 triumph in Tampa Bay on Feb. 7 and have pulled within three points of the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference. Tampa Bay moved into a virtual tie for first place in the Atlantic Division with Sunday’s 5-2 victory at San Jose that began a five-game road trip.
