February 07, 2015
NY Rangers at Nashville 3:00 PM ET
The New York Rangers will spend at least the next three weeks without the services of their franchise goaltender, while their next game will pit them against a team that knows the tale all too well. With Henrik Lundqvist sidelined with a vascular injury, the Rangers vie for their fourth consecutive victory and 20th in 25 games when they visit the Nashville Predators on Saturday afternoon.
Los Angeles at Tampa Bay 5:00 PM ET
The Los Angeles Kings look to put a halt to their fade in the Western Conference playoff race when they visit the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday. The Kings have scored three goals combined in three straight losses as they face a Lightning squad that leads the Eastern Conference in points and boasts a franchise-record 10 consecutive home-ice victories. Los Angeles is 1-5-2 in its last eight games after letting a third-period lead get away in a 3-2 loss at Florida on Thursday.
NY Islanders at Boston 7:00 PM ET
After averting a season-high losing streak in dramatic fashion, the New York Islanders will be out for revenge when they visit the Boston Bruins on Saturday in the second matchup between the teams in 10 days. A 5-2 setback to the Bruins on Jan. 29 triggered a three-game skid for the Islanders, who got back on track with a come-from-behind victory over Philadelphia in a shootout on Thursday. New York has won its past three visits to Boston, including a 3-2 victory on Oct. 23.
Dallas at Buffalo 7:00 PM ET
The sliding Dallas Stars are sitting in the basement of the Central Division as they prepare to kick off a pivotal stretch that features five road games in the next six, beginning with Saturday's matchup at the league-worst Buffalo Sabres. Despite dropping four of their last six, the Stars are only five points out of the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Dallas is coming off back-to-back home losses but has won its last three road games.
Edmonton at Toronto 7:00 PM ET
The Toronto Maple Leafs look to end their franchise-record 11-game losing streak Saturday as they host the Edmonton Oilers. Toronto fell to 0-10-1 since defeating Columbus on Jan. 9 with a 4-1 setback at New Jersey on Friday. Tyler Bozak scored the lone goal for the Maple Leafs, who will be playing at Air Canada Centre for just the fifth time since the Christmas break.
New Jersey at Montreal 7:00 PM ET
The New Jersey Devils attempt to extend their point streak to seven games when they visit the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday. New Jersey improved to 5-0-1 in its last six contests with a 4-1 home triumph Friday over Toronto. All-Star Patrik Elias scored his 400th career goal and Cory Schneider made 33 saves as the Devils concluded a 4-0-1 homestand.
Columbus at Ottawa 7:00 PM ET
The Ottawa Senators couldn't have imagined that Nick Foligno would become such a prolific offensive player after trading him to Columbus in July 2012. Foligno will look to make his old team pay Saturday night as he leads the Blue Jackets into the Canadian capital. The 27-year-old scored twice and added an assist in the Blue Jackets' 7-1 rout of the St. Louis Blues on Friday night as he continues what has turned out to be a career season.
Colorado at Minnesota 8:00 PM ET
The Minnesota Wild are making a late charge for a postseason berth and go for their season-high fifth consecutive victory when they host the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday. The Wild have allowed only three goals during their four-game win streak and are within five points of the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. “For us, we don’t want to make sure we only stay at the level, but push to get to an even higher level,” Minnesota coach Mike Yeo said.
Detroit at Arizona 8:00 PM ET
The Detroit Red Wings seek their ninth win in 10 contests as they continue their three-game road trip against the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday. Detroit had its six-game winning streak snapped at Tampa Bay on Jan. 29 but has rebound by allowing a total of one goal in victories over the New York Islanders and Colorado. Justin Abdelkader scored during a power play and Petr Mrazek made 28 saves for his first career shutout as the Red Wings topped the Avalanche 3-0 on Thursday.
Pittsburgh at Vancouver 10:00 PM ET
Now that they've reclaimed top spot in the Metropolitan Division race, the Pittsburgh Penguins can focus exclusively on one thing Saturday night: gaining their revenge on the Vancouver Canucks. The Penguins look to avenge a December home loss to the Canucks as they visit Vancouver in a rare trip to British Columbia for captain Sidney Crosby. Pittsburgh moved back ahead of the New York Islanders and into first place in the Metropolitan with Friday's 3-0 win over Calgary.
Carolina at San Jose 10:30 PM ET
The Carolina Hurricanes look to conclude their four-game road trip with back-to-back wins when they visit the San Jose Sharks on Saturday. After going 0-1-1 midway through its trek, Carolina emerged with a 2-1 shootout victory at Arizona on Thursday as Elias Lindholm scored the lone goal in the first round of the bonus format. The triumph gave the Hurricanes points in six of their last seven overall games (4-1-2) and five of six on the road (3-1-2).
