Preview Roundups

Edmonton at New Jersey 7:00 PM ET
The New Jersey Devils have offered little proof that they are capable of going on the type of hot streak needed to catapult them into postseason contention in the Eastern Conference. Sitting in a tie for 12th in the East, the Devils hope to build some momentum entering the Olympic break when they host the Edmonton Oilers on Friday. New Jersey's longest winning streak this season is only three games - that coming in November - and the Devils have lost 10 of 16 contests (6-5-5) in 2014.
NY Rangers at Pittsburgh 7:00 PM ET
The New York Rangers hope to head into the Olympic break on a high note when they visit the Eastern Conference-leading Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday. New York had its season-high winning streak snapped at four games as it dropped a 2-1 decision to Edmonton on Thursday. Derick Brassard scored 22 seconds into the middle period to forge a tie, but Nail Yakupov tallied with 1:38 remaining in the third to hand the Rangers their third loss in five home games.
Florida at Carolina 7:00 PM ET
The Carolina Hurricanes face a rugged schedule following the Olympic break, so they'll need to take advantage of back-to-back home games starting with Friday's matchup against the Florida Panthers. The Hurricanes have dropped two of three following a four-game winning streak to fall into a tie for 12th place in the Eastern Conference.
Chicago at Phoenix 9:00 PM ET
A lengthy road trip is proving to be just what the Chicago Blackhawks needed. Chicago has earned at least one point in each of the first five contests of its seven-game trek, which continues Friday against the Phoenix Coyotes. The Blackhawks are 3-0-2 on their excursion after suffering back-to-back regulation losses for just the second time this season.
Columbus at San Jose 10:30 PM ET
The San Jose Sharks wrap up their four-game homestand Friday as they host the Columbus Blue Jackets in their final game before the Olympic break. San Jose won two of the first three games of the stretch but still is struggling to score goals. The Sharks have been held to fewer than three tallies in regulation in eight straight contests and 11 of their last 15.
