January 25, 2018
Nashville at New Jersey 7:00 PM ET
The Nashville Predators are riding a seven-game point streak as they prepare to visit the slumping New Jersey Devils on Thursday night in the final contest before the All-Star break. The Predators are two points out of first place in the ultra-competitive Central Division while New Jersey is trying to hang on to second place in the Metropolitan.
Tampa Bay at Philadelphia 7:00 PM ET
The surging Philadelphia Flyers hope to add another victory and potentially move into second place in the Metropolitan Division before the All-Star break when they host the NHL-best Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday night. The Flyers have won four straight contests - three in overtime - and eight of their last nine after defeating Detroit 3-2 in the extra session Tuesday.
Minnesota at Pittsburgh 7:00 PM ET
The Minnesota Wild aim to complete a two-game season sweep of the Pittsburgh Penguins for the second straight year on Thursday when the clubs reconvene at PPG Paints Arena. Minnesota, which posted a 2-1 victory over Pittsburgh on Oct. 28, extended its point streak to six games (4-0-2) with a 3-1 triumph versus Ottawa on Monday.
Carolina at Montreal 7:30 PM ET
The Montreal Canadiens have gone more than a month without posting back-to-back wins in regulation, a streak they look to halt when they host the reeling Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday night. It is the final game before the All-Star break for the Canadiens, who snapped Colorado's 10-game winning streak with an impressive 4-1 victory on Tuesday.
Boston at Ottawa 7:30 PM ET
The Boston Bruins bid to match the second-longest point streak in franchise history as they pay a visit to Canada's capital to face the Ottawa Senators. The Bruins posted a pair of victories over the Senators last month as part of their 13-0-4 stretch, which trails only the 1968-69 team (13-0-5) and 1940-41 contingent (15-0-8) in terms of longer streaks.
Chicago at Detroit 7:30 PM ET
The Chicago Blackhawks take to the road in an attempt to halt their slide and get back into the playoff picture in the Western Conference as they begin a four-game trek Thursday against the Original Six-rival Detroit Red Wings. Chicago dropped a 3-2 overtime decision to Toronto on Wednesday to conclude a 1-4-1 homestand with its fourth straight loss (0-3-1).
Washington at Florida 7:30 PM ET
The Washington Capitals have yet to win a game since their league-mandated five-day break and the Metropolitan Division leaders hope to change that scenario when they visit the Florida Panthers on Thursday night before the All-Star break. The Capitals have lost four of five overall, dropping two games in overtime and another to Montreal in regulation after enjoying Jan. 12-18 off.
Colorado at St. Louis 8:00 PM ET
The always-crowded Central Division has another contender in the surprising Colorado Avalanche, who visit the St. Louis Blues on Thursday on the heels of their 10-game winning streak coming to an end. Eight points separate Central-leading Winnipeg and sixth-place Minnesota, with St. Louis four behind the Jets and Colorado another four back of the Blues.
Toronto at Dallas 8:30 PM ET
The Dallas Stars hope to continue an offensive surge and extend their point streak through the All-Star break when they host the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday. The Stars are 4-0-1 during their five-game run and 6-1-1 in their last eight to climb into a playoff position in the Western Conference, scoring a total of 13 goals in their last two contests after posting a 6-1 win over Florida on Tuesday.
Calgary at Edmonton 9:00 PM ET
The Calgary Flames have not come away without at least one point since late December and attempt to continue the trend when they visit the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday for the latest installment of the Battle of Alberta. Calgary is riding a 10-game point streak (7-0-3) but is coming off a winless three-game homestand during which it suffered a trio of 2-1 losses after regulation.
Columbus at Arizona 9:00 PM ET
The Columbus Blue Jackets continue to have issues scoring and their reigning Vezina Trophy winner Sergei Bobrovsky is having problems keeping the puck out of his own net. The Blue Jackets will look to rebound from a 6-3 setback at Western Conference-leading Vegas on Thursday when they visit the Arizona Coyotes in the final game before the All-Star break.
Buffalo at Vancouver 10:00 PM ET
Two of the five worst teams in the NHL face off Thursday when the Vancouver Canucks host the Buffalo Sabres. Vancouver matched a season high for goals in a 6-2 victory over Los Angeles on Tuesday, but sits 13 points behind Colorado for the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference while Buffalo is vying for its first three-game winning streak of the season but its 35 points are only two more than NHL-worst Arizona.
NY Islanders at Vegas 10:00 PM ET
The Vegas Golden Knights are on the verge of recording the best inaugural season in NHL history as they host the New York Islanders on Thursday. Vegas routed Columbus 6-3 on Tuesday, extending their home point streak to 12 games (10-0-2) and moving within one victory of matching the 1993-94 Florida Panthers and Anaheim Ducks for most in first-year annals.
Winnipeg at Anaheim 10:00 PM ET
The Anaheim Ducks host the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday in their final game before the NHL All-Star break, looking to carry over the momentum from a dazzling start in Tuesday’s victory over the New York Rangers. Anaheim responded to a lineup shakeup after Sunday’s loss to San Jose, scoring four times in the first period of a 6-3 victory.
NY Rangers at San Jose 10:30 PM ET
The San Jose Sharks were dealt a brutal blow after learning that 20-year NHL veteran Joe Thornton would be sidelined several weeks with a sprained MCL injury. The Sharks look to regain their composure and enter the All-Star break with some momentum on Thursday when they host the New York Rangers.
