Preview Roundups
January 17, 2017
Dallas at NY Rangers 7:00 PM ET
The New York Rangers expect to have a key forward back in the lineup as they attempt to avoid a third straight loss when they host the Dallas Stars on Tuesday. Mika Zibanejad, who has recorded five goals and 10 assists in 19 games this season, was cleared to return to action after missing 25 contests due to the broken fibula he suffered on Nov. 20.
Carolina at Columbus 7:00 PM ET
The Carolina Hurricanes look to continue their torrid stretch against a Columbus Blue Jackets team that is attempting to put the pieces back together after dropping four of six (2-3-1) on the heels of a franchise-best 16-game winning streak. The Hurricanes skated to a 5-3 victory over their surging Metropolitan Division rival last week and storm into Tuesday's tilt at Nationwide Arena on the strength of a four-game winning streak.
Buffalo at Toronto 7:30 PM ET
The Toronto Maple Leafs attempt to continue the momentum from a pair of road wins over the weekend when they begin a four-game homestand Tuesday against the Atlantic Division-rival Buffalo Sabres. Toronto posted identical 4-2 victories over the New York Rangers and Ottawa to extend its road point streak to 10 games (8-0-2), but dropped a 5-3 decision to Montreal in its most recent home contest on Jan. 7.
Ottawa at St. Louis 8:00 PM ET
The St. Louis Blues are struggling to keep pace with the leaders in the Central Division and a large part of that was going six weeks without stringing together back-to-back victories. The Blues finally ended that drought with a pair of road wins in California and look to carry the momentum into Tuesday's matchup against the visiting Ottawa Senators.
New Jersey at Minnesota 8:00 PM ET
The white-hot Minnesota Wild have lost once in regulation since the beginning of December as they prepare to open a four-game homestand against the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night. The Wild ran their winning streak to four games with a 3-2 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday in a showdown for first place in the Central Division.
Chicago at Colorado 9:00 PM ET
The Chicago Blackhawks lost their grasp on first place in the Central Division after losing consecutive contests to two of the best teams in the NHL. The Blackhawks look to regain their composure on Tuesday when they pay a visit to the owner of the league's lowest point total in the Colorado Avalanche.
Florida at Calgary 9:00 PM ET
The Florida Panthers are bolstering their spirited push toward the postseason by finding success on the road. The Panthers vie for their fifth consecutive victory away from home on Tuesday when they open a four-game road trip against the Calgary Flames.
Nashville at Vancouver 10:00 PM ET
Cody McLeod wasted no time making an impression -- not to mention an impact -- with the Nashville Predators, who will continue their five-game road trip with a visit to the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday. The Predators have ripped off three consecutive victories, a streak that started with a 2-1 overtime win over Vancouver on Jan. 10.
Tampa Bay at Anaheim 10:00 PM ET
The Anaheim Ducks have earned at least one point in 11 of their last 12 games en route to first place in the Pacific Division and look to continue that run when they host the rejuvenated Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday. The Ducks saw their three-game winning streak come to an end with a 2-1 overtime setback against St. Louis on Sunday - the fourth loss in the extra session during their current hot streak.
