Tampa Bay at Boston 7:00 PM ET
The Eastern Conference-leading Tampa Bay Lightning look for a quick recovery from an embarrassing effort when they visit the Atlantic Division-rival Boston Bruins on Tuesday. Tampa Bay had its three-game winning streak snapped Monday as it allowed six consecutive goals en route to a 7-3 loss at Philadelphia. The one bright spot for the Lightning was their power play, which converted twice in three opportunities against the NHL's worst penalty-killing team.
Detroit at Buffalo 7:00 PM ET
The Detroit Red Wings continue their six-game road trip with a visit to the lowly Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday. Buffalo has lost seven straight and has not recorded a win in regulation since Dec. 11 - a stretch that includes a 6-3 road loss at Detroit. The Red Wings have won nine of their last 10 meetings with the Sabres, who defeated Detroit in a shootout on Nov. 2.
NY Islanders at NY Rangers 7:00 PM ET
Although the New York Islanders reside in the penthouse of the Metropolitan Division, their pesky neighborhood rivals aren't too far removed after winning five in a row and 13 of their last 14. The New York Rangers completed a clean sweep of the California contingent and look to chip into their five-point deficit in the division when they host the Islanders on Tuesday.
Minnesota at Pittsburgh 7:00 PM ET
The Minnesota Wild are in a free fall that has landed them in the basement of the Central Division but history is on their side as they prepare to face one of the league's perennial powers. Losers of five consecutive games and 11 of 13 (2-7-4), Minnesota continues a three-game road trip with a visit to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday night. The Wild have been a nemesis for the Penguins, winning six of their last seven in Pittsburgh.
Colorado at Carolina 7:00 PM ET
The Colorado Avalanche continue their five-game road trip Tuesday, when they pay a visit to PNC Arena to take on the Carolina Hurricanes. Colorado began its trek Monday with a 2-1 loss at Washington, ending its three-game overall winning streak. Alex Tanguay scored the lone goal for the Avalanche, who look to complete a sweep of the two-game season series against the Hurricanes.
Edmonton at St. Louis 8:00 PM ET
The St. Louis Blues have snapped out of a mini-slump that bookended the Christmas break and go for their fifth consecutive victory when they host the last-place Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday. The Blues are coming off a 5-4 shootout victory over Carolina - the only narrow decision during the winning streak following three blowout wins. "It's not always going to be pretty," defenseman Alex Pietrangelo said. "It's not always going to be easy to win."
Vancouver at Nashville 8:00 PM ET
The Nashville Predators have collected at least a point in eight straight contests (6-0-2) to skate their way to the top the Central Division. The Predators look to continue their ascent and vie for their fourth consecutive victory when the Vancouver Canucks visit Music City on Tuesday. Colin Wilson raised his point total to 13 in 10 games by recording a goal and an assist in a 3-1 win over reeling Minnesota on Saturday and also tallied in a 3-1 triumph against Vancouver on Nov. 2.
Florida at Winnipeg 8:00 PM ET
The Florida Panthers wrap up their six-game road trip in search of a fourth straight victory when they visit the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday. Florida has won four of the first five games of its trek, dropping only a one-goal decision at Washington on Jan. 4. The Panthers made it three straight in Canada on Sunday with a 4-2 triumph over Edmonton that gave them points in 11 of their last 14 contests (9-3-2).
Ottawa at Dallas 8:30 PM ET
Veteran forward Jason Spezza makes his first appearance against the team with which he spent his first 11 seasons when the Dallas Stars host the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night. Spezza, who served as team captain in his final season with Ottawa, requested an offseason trade after the Senators failed to make the playoffs. "I wish I would have had longer with the 'C,'" Spezza said. "It was kind of a bad one-year term, but it is what it is."
San Jose at Arizona 9:00 PM ET
Melker Karlsson has scored in each of the last five games, but the San Jose Sharks have just two wins to show for it. The 24-year-old Swede looks to continue his torrid streak and set the franchise rookie record for consecutive contests with a tally when the Sharks visit the Pacific Division-rival Arizona Coyotes on Tuesday.
