Florida at New Jersey 7:00 PM ET
The New Jersey Devils are starting to pull out of a slump that consumed a good portion of December and look to add another victory when they host the Florida Panthers on Monday. The Devils, who lost 2-1 in overtime to visiting Edmonton on Saturday while playing with five healthy defensemen most of the night, are 3-2-1 since winning just once in a 10-game span but 0-1-1 on their three-game homestand.
Washington at Montreal 7:30 PM ET
The Washington Capitals put their five-game winning streak on the line when they visit the Atlantic Division-leading Montreal Canadiens on Monday. Washington is coming off a 1-0 triumph at Ottawa on Saturday and has earned points in eight of nine games (6-1-2) since dropping a 2-1 decision to Montreal at home on Dec. 17.
Calgary at Winnipeg 8:00 PM ET
The Winnipeg Jets open a quick two-game homestand Monday against the Calgary Flames, but rookie sensation Patrik Laine will not be on the ice anytime soon. The 18-year-old Finnish right wing, who leads all NHL first-year players with 37 points, suffered a concussion in Saturday’s 4-3 loss to Buffalo, and coach Paul Maurice told reporters after Sunday’s practice there is no timetable for his return.
Dallas at Los Angeles 10:30 PM ET
The Los Angeles Kings have been solid at Staples Center this season, going 12-5-1 to stay afloat in the competitive Western Conference as they have floundered to an 8-11-3 record on the road. The Kings have an opportunity to improve their standing in the West with a seven-game homestand that continues Monday against the Dallas Stars.
