Preview Roundups
January 04, 2017
Winnipeg at Florida 7:00 PM ET
The Florida Panthers are beginning to find some footing with points in four straight and seven of eight as they prepare to host the pesky Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday to open a three-game homestand. The Panthers followed up three straight losses in extra time at home with an impressive 3-1 victory at Dallas on Saturday with James Reimer spelling veteran Roberto Luongo in net for the second straight game.
Montreal at Dallas 8:00 PM ET
Since getting off to a 4-5-1 start on the road, the Montreal Canadiens have been racking up the points away from home. The Atlantic Division-leading Canadiens are 4-1-3 on the road since early December and 2-1-2 on their seven-game trek, which continues Wednesday against the Dallas Stars.
NY Rangers at Philadelphia 8:00 PM ET
Less than 24 hours after racking up 19 giveaways in a home loss to Buffalo, the New York Rangers hope to be less generous when they visit the Metropolitan Division-rival Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday. New York captain Ryan McDonagh was responsible for five giveaways as the team suffered its second loss in three home games - a 4-1 defeat that halted its three-game overall winning streak.
Arizona at Vancouver 10:00 PM ET
The Vancouver Canucks began their season high-tying four-game winning streak by defeating three of the heavyweights in the Pacific Division. After vanquishing Los Angeles, Anaheim and Edmonton to end December on a high, the Canucks look to continue their run of good fortune on Wednesday when they host the cellar-dwelling Arizona Coyotes in the second contest of a three-game homestand.
Colorado at Calgary 10:00 PM ET
The Calgary Flames have managed to turn things around following a dismal start to the season, but the Colorado Avalanche keep digging themselves a bigger hole with no apparent end in sight. Losers of four in a row and nine of their last 10, the league-worst Avalanche complete a two-game road trip with a visit to the Flames on Wednesday night.
Detroit at Anaheim 10:30 PM ET
Tomas Tatar has answered a four-game scoring drought by collecting a goal and two assists in the first two contests of a seven-game road trip. The 26-year-old looks to continue his offensive surge on Wednesday when the Detroit Red Wings visit the Ducks, against whom he recorded his first career hat trick last month.
