Preview Roundups
December 11, 2014
Maine at Boston College 7:00 PM ET
Boston College put a difficult November behind it and is thriving with the turn of the calendar. The Eagles will try to move to 3-0 in December when they host Maine on Thursday. BC went 2-3 in the first two weeks of the season, capped by a disappointing showing in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off, but started this month with a win over Marist and earned its most encouraging win with a 69-60 triumph over Providence on Friday.
Elon University at Missouri 7:00 PM ET
Having suffered one ugly home loss and narrowly averted a second, Missouri hopes to dodge another when it hosts Elon in a non-conference matchup Thursday. The Tigers are 3-1 at home, but the loss was a season-opening setback against UMKC and they barely eked out a 65-61 win over Southeast Missouri State in their last home contest. The Phoenix have won three straight, but two of those wins were routs of non-NCAA opponents.
DePaul at George Washington 7:00 PM ET
DePaul and George Washington will spend part of their Christmas holidays in Hawaii at the Diamond Head Classic, but the two squads meet Thursday at George Washington looking to extend win streaks. The Blue Demons aim for their fifth victory in a row while the host Colonials have won their past two games. DePaul center Tommy Hamilton IV averaged 17.7 points and 7.3 rebounds in three victories last week, while George Washington swingman Patricio Garino hit 63 percent of his shots in two wins.
Central Florida at Illinois-Chicago 8:00 PM ET
The first stop on a two-game road trip was unkind to UCF, which will try to earn a split when it visits UIC on Thursday. The Knights were run off the court in a 96-73 loss at Florida State on Saturday. UCF is allowing an average of 61.8 points in its five wins while surrendering 95.5 in losses to Florida State and Davidson.
