Pittsburgh is coming off its biggest win of the season at Maryland on Tuesday at the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. Next the Panthers will try for a 16th straight victory against city-rival Duquesne on Friday at PPG Paints Arena in The City Game.
SIU - Edwardsville at Indiana 7:00 PM ET
Indiana looks to avoid a letdown after another big victory over a top-3 team when the 10th-ranked Hoosiers host SIU-Edwardsville on Friday night. Indiana knocked off then-No. 2 Kansas in its season opener and outlasted No. 3 North Carolina 76-67 on Wednesday, but in between the Hoosiers suffered an upset loss at Fort Wayne of the Summit League.
Cal. State - Bakersfield at Southern Methodist 8:00 PM ET
SMU tries to snap a two-game losing streak - and get off to a better start - when it kicks off a six-game homestand Friday against Cal State Bakersfield. The Mustangs trailed Boise State by 20 at halftime en route to a 71-62 loss Wednesday with coach Tim Jankovich accentuating the positive by telling reporters: "Our effort was tremendous in the second half."
St. John's at Tulane 8:00 PM ET
St. John's shows no signs of being able to rebound from its disastrous 2015-26 campaign when it lost 22 of its final 23 games. The Red Storm, who suffered their fifth straight loss last time out to lowly Delaware State at home, try to break the skid when they visit Tulane on Friday.
Alabama at Texas 9:30 PM ET
A young Texas squad will continue to look for leadership when the Longhorns host Alabama on Friday. Longhorns coach Shaka Smart said his team needs someone to step forward when things go bad, as they did in the program's first-ever loss to Texas-Arlington on Tuesday.
