Preview Roundups
November 17, 2015
Alabama at Dayton 1:00 PM ET
Ryan Mikesell and Dazon Ingram could be hard pressed to improve upon their sensational debuts when Dayton faces visiting Alabama on Tuesday. Mikesell, a 6-7 forward from Saint Henry, OH, came off the bench to play a team-high 26 minutes and scored 21 points, hit five 3-pointers and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Flyers in a rout over Southeast Missouri State.
Colorado at Auburn 3:00 PM ET

Auburn’s Tuesday home game against Colorado will be nationally televised as part of ESPN’s Tip-Off Marathon, but the Tigers and Buffaloes didn’t exactly draw a prime-time slot. And that has had Auburn coach Bruce Pearl drumming up local support all weekend.

DePaul at Penn St. 5:00 PM ET
The post-D.J. Newbill era at Penn State began with a gritty win, and the Nittany Lions will try to make it two in a row when they host DePaul on Tuesday in a Gavitt Tipoff Games affair. Newbill led the Big Ten in scoring (20.7) last season while none of his Penn State teammates averaged in double figures, leaving coach Patrick Chambers with a massive void to fill.
Oklahoma at Memphis 5:00 PM ET
Expectations are running high at Oklahoma and with a stellar backcourt consisting of seniors Buddy Hield and Isaiah Cousins, the No. 8 Sooners get to work when they open their season with a visit to Memphis on Tuesday. Hield, the reigning Big 12 Player of the Year and preseason All-American selection, averaged 17.4 points in 2014-15 while Cousins was the team's second-leading scorer (11.7) as the two formed a special bond over their first three seasons in Norman.
Missouri at Xavier 6:30 PM ET
Xavier hopes to use one of the best home-court advantages in the nation to get off to a hot start to the season – and dispatch an improved Missouri team on Tuesday. The Musketeers play seven of their first 11 contests at Cintas Center, where their all-time home winning percentage of .871 ranks fifth in the nation.
New Hampshire at Connecticut 7:00 PM ET
On paper, No. 24 Connecticut's offense looks like it could be one of the nation's best and Kevin Ollie's team certainly didn't disappoint in the season opener while hitting the century mark. UConn looks to get the engines rolling again when it hosts New Hampshire on Tuesday night.
Grambling State at Ohio St. 7:00 PM ET
Ohio State hosts Grambling State for the first time in program history in the campus round of the College Basketball Hall of Fame Invitational on Tuesday. The Buckeyes began life without D'Angelo Russell, who was picked second overall by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2015 NBA Draft, with a 76-54 win over Mount St. Mary's to hand coach Thad Matta his 300th victory at Ohio State.
Hartford at Louisville 7:00 PM ET
Louisville has spent the better part of the last six weeks answering questions about a scandal that rocked the program and even led to calls for coach Rick Pitino's resignation. The Cardinals seemed very much unaffected by the off-court issues in their official return to the court, however, and eye another dominant all-around performance on Tuesday when they host Hartford.
St. Bonaventure at Syracuse 7:00 PM ET
Last season, Syracuse was a limited offensive team that struggled to produce points outside of All-American center Rakeem Christmas. This year's batch of Orange players is a totally different group, one that will take the court Tuesday against visiting St. Bonaventure.
Wis.-Milwaukee at Notre Dame 7:00 PM ET
Notre Dame looked in mid-season form in its opener, an 87-56 win over St. Francis (Pa.), and looks to build off that momentum as it takes on visiting Milwaukee on Tuesday. The Panthers will play their fourth game in five days, after winning the Cable Car Classic at Santa Clara.
St. Joseph's (IN) at Pittsburgh 7:00 PM ET
Although its season-opening contest against No. 12 Gonzaga in Okinawa, Japan was canceled after halftime due to slippery court conditions, Pittsburgh showed it could compete against the best teams in the country. The Panthers will have to shake off a 14-hour plane ride back to campus when they host Division II St. Joseph's (Ind.) on Tuesday.
Kentucky at Duke 7:30 PM ET
Second-ranked Kentucky and fourth-ranked Duke are revamped programs and the two powerhouses engage in a big-time early-season clash in the Champions Classic at the United Center in Chicago on Tuesday. The Blue Devils won last season's NCAA title with No. 3 overall NBA pick Jahlil Okafor leading the way while the Wildcats reached the Final Four before being eliminated and saw standout center Karl-Anthony Towns become the top selection of the NBA draft.
Wichita St. at Tulsa 8:00 PM ET

No. 11 Wichita State will get an early test Tuesday when it faces an experienced Tulsa team on the road. The Golden Hurricane, who return all five starters, got 45 points from senior leaders James Woodard and Shaquille Harrison in Saturday's win.

North Dakota at Wisconsin 8:00 PM ET
Wisconsin bounced back from possibly the biggest upset of the season in their opener with an easy home victory Sunday, and the Badgers will look to do it again Tuesday night when they host North Dakota. Coach Bo Ryan's squad dropped its Friday opener to Western Illinois 69-67 before routing Siena 92-65 in its next game, and Ryan may find that the loss could be helpful to keep his team's focus against lesser opponents.
Texas-San Antonio at Creighton 8:00 PM ET
After winning its 21st consecutive home opener, Creighton seeks a 2-0 start at CenturyLink Center Omaha against winless UTSA on Tuesday night in the Men Who Speak Up Main Event. Freshman Khyri Thomas led five Bluejays in double figures with 18 points in a 93-70 win over Texas Southern on Saturday.
Nebraska at Villanova 8:30 PM ET
Villanova's guards generally get the bulk of the attention, especially senior Ryan Arcidiacono and freshman Jalen Brunson. That said, the eighth-ranked Wildcats understand that the key to their entire operation just might be center Daniel Ochefu, who eyes another strong performance Tuesday night against visiting Nebraska.
Georgetown at Maryland 9:00 PM ET
The inaugural Gavitt Tipoff Games reunites two rivals close in proximity but who seldom have faced off the past 35 years when Georgetown travels to third-ranked Maryland on Tuesday. The preseason tournament features matchups of teams from the Big East and Big Ten conferences, and pits the Hoyas and Terrapins – programs that faced each other every season from 1947-1976 – for just the fourth time since 1980.
Jacksonville at Florida St. 9:00 PM ET
After a blowout win in its season opener, Florida State aims to build momentum when Jacksonville visits on Tuesday. Freshman Dwayne Bacon burst onto the scene in his Seminoles debut, leading five players in double figures with 23 points in a 109-62 rout of visiting Nicholls State on Sunday.
Kansas at Michigan St 10:00 PM ET
Two of the most talented and experienced teams in the country meet in an early showdown when No. 13 Michigan State takes on fifth-ranked Kansas in the Champions Classic on Tuesday at the United Center in Chicago. The Spartans have nine of their top 11 scorers back while the Jayhawks return four starters; both had impressive routs in their openers.
Iona at Oregon St. 10:00 PM ET
With so much preseason hype surrounding Oregon State guard Gary Payton II, it’s easy to overlook the Beavers’ impressive trio of freshmen. Payton and his rising supporting cast will look to build on their dominant season-opening win over Northwest Christian on Tuesday against visiting Iona, which is favored to win its third straight Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference regular-season title.
